Congratulations on Your New Hair
Your hair extensions are made from 100% Human Remy Hair and, with the right care, will continue to look soft, healthy and beautiful for months to come. Following these simple care instructions will help maximise the lifespan of your extensions while keeping both your natural hair and extensions in excellent condition.
-
For the first 48 hours after your appointment:
• Do not wash your hair.
• Avoid excessive exercise, swimming, saunas and steam rooms.
• Avoid tight hairstyles that place unnecessary tension on your extensions. This allows your extension method to fully settle for the best long term result.
-
Brush your hair morning and night using an extension safe brush.
Always support the roots with one hand while brushing and begin at the ends, gradually working upwards.
Never allow tangles to build up, particularly around the attachment points.
Tie your hair into a loose braid or ponytail before sleeping to reduce friction and tangling.
Never sleep with wet or damp hair.
-
Wash your hair as needed, typically 1–3 times per week depending on your lifestyle.
Before washing:
• Thoroughly brush your hair.
When shampooing:
• Wet your hair completely.
• Shampoo your scalp twice using gentle pressure.
• Allow the shampoo to run through the lengths rather than scrubbing the extensions.
• Rinse thoroughly.Apply conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends only, avoiding all attachment points.
Rinse thoroughly to remove any product residue.
-
Gently squeeze excess water from the hair using a towel. Do not rub the hair vigorously.
Blow dry the roots and attachment points first before drying the lengths.
Ensure your attachment points are completely dry before tying your hair up or going to bed.
-
Hair extensions can be curled, waved and straightened just like natural hair.
Always use a heat protectant before using heated styling tools.
Avoid applying excessive heat directly onto attachment points.
-
Choose moisturising products designed to hydrate the hair without leaving excessive residue around the attachment points.
Avoid products containing:
• Keratin
• Protein
• High concentrations of alcoholThese ingredients may contribute to dryness, brittleness or reduced longevity of the extensions.
Avoid applying oils, masks or heavy conditioning treatments directly onto attachment points.
-
Before swimming:
• Brush your hair thoroughly.
• Tie your hair into a braid or low ponytail. After swimming:
• Rinse your hair immediately with fresh water.
• Shampoo and condition your hair as soon as practical.Extended exposure to chlorine, salt water and sunscreen may affect both the colour and condition of hair extensions.
-
Lighter blonde shades naturally require more hydration than darker colours due to the lightening process.
Regular moisture treatments and extension safe hair care products will help maintain softness, shine and longevity.
-
Regular maintenance appointments are essential for maintaining both your natural hair and your extensions.
General maintenance recommendations:
• Keratin Bonds: Every 10–20 weeks.
• Invisible Wefts: Every 6–10 weeks.Your stylist may recommend a different schedule based on your hair growth, lifestyle and chosen extension method.
-
• Sleeping with wet hair.
• Skipping regular brushing.
• Using products containing keratin or protein.
• Applying conditioner or oils to attachment points.
• Leaving maintenance appointments too long.
• Allowing tangles to tighten around the roots.
• Using excessive heat without protection. -
